About The University of Nottingham Ningbo
The University of Nottingham Ningbo, China is the first Sino-Foreign University in China with approval from the Chinese Ministry of Education. The President of The University of Nottingham Ningbo, China is Professor Yang Fujia, a distinguished academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and former President of Fudan University, and the Provost is Professor Roger Woods. The University of Nottingham is in the World's Top 100 universities by leading international league tables. The University of Nottingham Ningbo, China's mission statement is "Academic Excellence in the Service of Global Citizenship", and this means that The University of Nottingham Ningbo, China has committed itself to developing subjects that combine internationally ranked teaching and research excellence at The University of Nottingham UK with Chinese needs for internationalisation and globalisation.
Currently there are three faculties at The University of Nottingham Ningbo, China offering undergraduate and postgraduate (masters and doctors) degrees. They are the Faculty of Social Sciences, the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, and the Faculty of Science and Engineering. Under the faculties, there are eight divisions: Nottingham University Business School China, Division of International Studies, Division of International Communications, Division of English Studies, Division of Computer Science, Division of Sustainable Development, Division of Engineering and Centre for English Language Education(CELE). Subjects have been chosen taking into account the expertise available at Nottingham, UK and the needs of China. So far during the 5 years the University has operated four groups of Masters Graduates (in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009) and two groups of Bachelor graduates (in 2008 and 2009). The academic achievements of the graduates have been excellent, similar to those of the students at The University of Nottingham UK and their rate of employment has been very high.
The University is located in Ningbo Higher Education Park on a newly build and dedicated campus with a land area of 887mu. Currently, it has around 4500 undergraduate and postgraduate students and more than 300 teaching and administrative staff from over 25 countries in the world.
